Hi,
everyone!!!! Welcome to Tipsy Friday!!!!!!
Today we’ll
have a more instructive meme. I’ll talk about things I’ve learned with my vast
experience *coff* and watching my friends and stuff like that.
In life, we
always make mistakes and we will always do. It’s not about being perfect, it’s
about making mistakes, learn from them so we can make new mistakes and not
repeating the same again.
So, I made
a lot of mistakes and, hopefully I’ll make many more, but I think that the
right thing to do is pass along the little I’ve learned so you guys can also
learn with my wisdom *coff* LoL
Lessons I
keep to my heart:
1º Not
everybody wants to know the truth —
Since we
are little babies we always hear how awesome is to tell the truth, and if we
don’t we will burn in hell for all eternity.
I have catholic parents, in case you’re wondering. LoL The thing is,
tell the truth is wonderful and, yes, it is the right thing to do, but not all
the time it isn’t.
If your friend
is trying on a pair of jeans that make her ass look ginormous and she turns and
asks: “Does this jeans make me look fat?” The truth would be: “Hell yeah. Like
I’m looking right into the sun.” Then you cover your eyes and run around the
room screaming “I’M BLIND! I’M BLIND!” In this case the truth wouldn’t be very
kind or productive, so we say something that looks like the truth but is not
the whole truth: “You know, what? Maybe the blue one will look cuter with that
top.” And give it your best *don’t look down to the ginormous ass* smile.
2º Mariah’
Carey songs are the best ones to let the pressure out of your system —
When I feel
myself stressed and overwhelmed I like to sing, really loud and squeally. I
even have a mic that I plug on my stereo. Did I mention my neighbors love me?
Yep, they do(not). LoL
So, one of
the singers that I love to sing and let me light as a feather is Mariah Carey.
*sigh* I sing till I get aphonic and I love every single minute of it. My
neighbors, well, I don’t really care about them.
These is
one of my fave:
Mariah
Carey - Fantasy
When you
walk by every night
Talking
sweet and looking fine
I get kind
of hectic inside
Baby, I'm
so into you
Darling, if
you only knew
All the
things that flow through my mind
But it's
just a
Chorus:
Sweet,
sweet fantasy baby
When I
close my eyes you come and take me
On and on
and on
It's so
deep in my daydream
But it's
just a sweet, sweet fantasy baby
Images of
rapture
Creep into
me slowly
As you're
going to my head
And my
heart beats faster
When you
take me over
Time and
time and time again
But it's
just a
(Chorus x2)
I'm in
heaven with my boyfriend
My lovely
boyfriend
There's no
beginning and there is no end
Feels like
I'm dreaming but I'm not sleeping
(Chorus x2)
Sweet,
sweet fantasy baby
Sweet,
sweet fantasy baby
Fantasy
Now, can
you tell me it doesn’t make you want to sing your lungs out?
3º When you
are really, really mad, stop, take a look at everything around you and laugh —
It seems
crazy, but I get mad at the smallest stuff sometimes and my blood boils like
you can’t imagine. So, when I feel like I’m about to explode, I take a deep
breath and look at the situation like I’m not involved, from a new perception.
Nine out of ten, is something so incredibly stupid that I start to laugh.
No, is not
like my point is stupid, but I just don’t think is worth on the long run. Is
like, do I really want to smack my sister’s head against the wall cose she
ruined my brand new blouse?
I mean, there’s much better ways to solve this. A
piece of stuff don’t worth the trouble or the bile liking into my gut. Besides,
the hospital will be a pain to pay. LoL
4º Try to
learn with the books you read and movie you watch, no matter how dumb it may
seem —
That one
was my Lit teacher that said to me. He always told us that we should learn at
least one thing with the movies we watch and the books we read. We need to try
to see beyond the surface and dig for deeper meanings. With him I’ve learned
that even the shallowest plot can have something to teach me. Not convinced
yet? Well, let me give you an example:
With the
Fallen series I’ve learned that a pretty cover can full me once, twice and
trice, but after three books and no plausible explanation for any of the
questions I wanted answer I see it’s time to give up. So, I can say I’ve
learned that sometimes is ok to give up on a series and keep your reader’s
dignity, or part of it. LoL
5º There’s
nothing that can’t be fixed with chocolate —
PMS,
heartache, etc. There’s one answer to all your pains and this answer is:
Chocolate!
The taste,
sweet, creamy, enveloping your mouth and making all your nerve’s ending tingle.
I don’t need to say how much I love chocolate, right? I believe is the most
magical thing we, humans, have.
So, to
prove my point I’ll let you with a recipe that is wonderful and is from one of
my kitchen idols = Nigella!!!! She is the best, cose her recipes are simple and
she even has some really fast ones. The express recipes!!! LoL And this is one
of them, so if you are like me and love chocolate, but doesn’t like to waste
time, pick you pen and paper cose this one is a keeper.
Instant
Chocolate Mousse
INGREDIENTS
150g mini
marshmallows
50g soft
butter
250g good
dark chocolate (minimum 70% cocoa solids), chopped into small pieces
60ml hot
water from a recently boiled kettle
1 x 284ml
tub double cream
1 teaspoon
vanilla extract
METHOD
Serves: 4-6
Put the
marshmallows, butter, chocolate and water in a heavy-based saucepan.
Put the
saucepan on the hob, over heat, though keep it fairly gentle, to melt the
contents, stirring every now and again. Remove from the heat.
Meanwhile,
whip the cream with the vanilla extract until thick, and then fold into the
cooling chocolate mixture until you have a smooth, cohesive mixture.
Pour or
scrape into 4 glasses or ramekins, about 175ml each in capacity, or 6 smaller
(125ml) ones, and chill until you want to eat. The sooner the better!
